There are several other variants of the game, such as three-card brag. This variant combines bluffing with the three card aforementioned and has been popular in the U.K. since the 1800s.
Other variants include the community card, a version of the game introduced around 1925. A player who has the highest ranking combination is ‘the first bettor’. All the other players must match his or her bet. The ‘best hand’ of the game is a hand consisting of a five-card straight.
In a variety of variants, a player can be ‘all in’ to claim the winning pot. Unlike a single-handed version of the game, an all-in player is obligated to play the entire hand, and is only able to claim the pot to which he or she contributed.
